35Environment Storage
36-------------------
37
Fabio Estevama81c90f2014-06-10 00:03:59 -030038There are three targets for mx28evk:
Fabio Estevamab461be2013-03-07 11:28:19 +000039
Robert P. J. Day1bce2ae2013-09-16 07:15:45 -040040"make mx28evk_config" - store environment variables into MMC

42or
43
Robert P. J. Day1bce2ae2013-09-16 07:15:45 -040044"make mx28evk_nand_config" - store environment variables into NAND flash

Fabio Estevama81c90f2014-06-10 00:03:59 -030046or
47
Robert P. J. Day1cc0a9f2016-05-04 04:47:31 -040048"make mx28evk_spi_config" - store environment variables into SPI NOR flash
Fabio Estevama81c90f2014-06-10 00:03:59 -030049
Fabio Estevamab461be2013-03-07 11:28:19 +000050Choose the target accordingly.
51
52Note: The mx28evk board does not come with a NAND flash populated from the
53factory. It comes with an empty slot (U23), which allows the insertion of a
5448-pin TSOP flash device.
55
Fabio Estevama81c90f2014-06-10 00:03:59 -030056mx28evk does not come with SPI NOR flash populated from the factory either.
57It is possible to solder a SOIC memory on U49 or use a DIP8 on J89.
58To get SPI communication to work R320, R321,R322 and C178 need to be populated.
59Look in the schematics for the proper component values.

Fabio Estevam210e4432019-10-04 08:05:57 -030061Follow the instructions from doc/imx/common/mxs.txt to generate a bootable
62SD card or to generate a binary to be flashed into SPI NOR.
